When the British ended their Raj in Indian subcontinent, and wound up the Indian Empire, they had apprehensions that the Indian leadership won't be able to hold the nation together. But, history was to witness one of the most complex integration processes being carried out wonderfully well. What went into the integration of Princely States in India, and how were they amalgamated into an Indian Republic is stuff of legend.
