For 450 crore years, planet Earth has evolved through multiple stages of building and rebuilding and destruction. Species have come and gone. Entire ecosystems have evolved and vanished into oblivion. In the past few thousand years, modern homo sapiens have emerged, with disproportionate powers of destruction at their disposal. Their impact on ecosystems is rather huge, and not seen before on Earth. Discuss at length.
