A strong Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) regime alone can motivate inventors to create new, innovative products that take society forward. Also, India's own IPR creation must pick pace, if it is to be a world leader in coming years. Discuss.

Patents, copyrights, trademarks, industrial designs and GI marks are the basic types of IPR that get created. A strong IP systems, backed by law, helps create new IP constantly. The recent history of industrialised world shows that the nations that raced ahead were those that invested heavily in IP creation. India needs to push its innovation ecosystem to do just that.
